WARNING
This meter may contain life threatening voltages.
Qualified personnel must disconnect all high voltage wiring before using or servicing
the meter.
CAUTION
Denotes caution.
Equipment damage or loss of data may occur if you do not follow a procedure as
specified. Using this device in a manner for which it is not intended may impair its
means of protection.
WARNING
Shock Hazard
Follow these steps in sequence when connecting the MD BMS and MD-BMED Power
Meters to prevent a shock hazard:
● De-energize the circuit to be monitored.
● Connect the Current Transformers to the phases being monitored.
● Connect the voltage leads to the different phases. Use proper safety equipment
(gloves and protective clothing) as required for the voltages being monitored.
WARNING
Do not exceed 600 Volts
This meter is equipped to monitor loads up to 600V. Exceeding this voltage will cause
damage to the meter and danger to the user. Always use a Potential Transformer
(PT) for loads in excess of 600V. The MD-BMS and MD-BMED Power Meters are 600
Volt Over Voltage Category III devices.
WARNING
DENOTES HIGH VOLTAGE.
RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK. LIFE THREATENING VOLTAGES MAY BE
PRESENT. QUALIFIED PERSONNEL ONLY.
As with any high voltage electrical system, it is imperative that proper personal
protective equipment be worn before inspecting or servicing electrical equipment.
Before inspecting or servicing installed power meters, read and follow the Medium
Risk, NFPA Category 2 PPE requirements (see
NFPA 70E, Section 9.1, NFPA 70E
PPE
Selection Tables).
WARNING
MD-BMS, MD-BMED hazardous voltages exist.
There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Do not open the enclosure.
