Correct use

The MSA400 is an electric motor-driven system for opening and closing windows/French doors with sliding hardware 
(sliding elements). It has a maximum displacement force of 50 N (res. 90 N on application of a light curtain) and a traverse 
path of up to 8 m, and it may only be installed in elements which are compatible with these specifications.

Only operate and/or store the MSA400 system at temperatures between -5 °C and +50 °C.

• 

Operate the MSA400 only when it is in a technically sound condition. Do not modify the unit's components in any way.

• 

The MSA400 system may be operated only with hardware components and original accessories from SIEGENIA or with 
hardware components and accessories from other manufacturers that have been expressly approved by SIEGENIA.

• 

In the event of a fault, have the MSA400 checked and repaired by qualified specialists only.

• 

When you operate the unit for the first time, you must carry out a reference run as well as a calibration/teach-in run in 
order to determine the element size and the displacement force.

Improper use

• 

The MSA400 system is not suitable for use in swimming pools and / or damp rooms. Special designs are possible and 
permitted only upon request and after having been tested by SIEGENIA.

• 

Do not use the MSA400 system on emergency exit or panic exit doors.

• 

Sliding elements that are equipped with the MSA400 slide drive must not be used as escape doors in the event of a fire.

• 

Do not put the MSA400 into operation when it is not installed, as this can cause mechanical defects.

• 

Any use or application of this product that is not in accordance with its proper use, or any adaptation of or modification 
to the product and its associated components, for which the express consent of SIEGENIA has not been obtained, are 
strictly prohibited. SIEGENIA accepts no liability whatsoever for any material losses or injury to people caused by failure 
to comply with this stipulation.
