Safety information
2.1
General safety notes
•
The 3vistor-P is a driver assistance system for collision awareness. It is intended to
support the driver. A driver assistance system is not a substitute for careful and
prudent driving!
•
The device may only be mounted, installed electrically, and configured by profes
-
sionally qualified and trained personnel.
•
Before mounting the device, it is essential to take note of the operating instruc-
tions provided by the machine manufacturer and, where applicable, to evaluate
potential mounting locations with the manufacturer in advance.
•
When carrying out mounting and electrical installation work, always observe the
applicable work procedures, health and safety regulations, and environmental
regulations.
•
The assistance system is not to be used in areas containing flammable or explo
-
sive atmospheres.
•
Be sure to follow the electrical supply instructions during installation.
•
Only use the cable supplied to install the equipment.
•
Replace any defective or damaged cables and connectors immediately.
•
Replace any damaged or defective components immediately (in consultation with
SICK AG).
•
During mounting, it is essential to use suitable fasteners. The fasteners must be
self-locking or must be fixed appropriately using a locknut.
•
Ensure that the device receives a constant power supply within the specified pa

rameters.
•
Only operate the assistance system within the specified operating parameters.
•
Check that the assistance system is functioning correctly at regular intervals, e.g.,
at the end of the working day.
•
Never cover the evaluation unit and always ensure effective heat dissipation at the
mounting location.
•
Do not expose the evaluation unit mounting location to direct sunlight.
•
Structural modifications to the system are prohibited.
