Operator qualifications
The driver assistance system may only be configured, mounted, connected, commis
-
sioned, and maintained by qualified personnel.
Project planning
A person is considered competent to carry out project planning if he/she has exper-
tise and experience in the selection and use of protective devices on machines and is
familiar with the relevant technical rules and national occupational safety regulations.
Mechanical mounting and commissioning
A person is considered competent to carry out mechanical mounting and commis-
sioning if he/she has the expertise and experience in the relevant field and is suffi
-
ciently familiar with the use of protective devices on the machine to be able to deter-
mine when it is in a safe state to carry out the work.
Electrical installation
A person is considered competent to carry out electrical installation and commissioning
if he/she has the expertise and experience in the relevant field and is sufficiently
familiar with the use of protective devices on the machine to be able to determine when
it is in a safe state to carry out the work.
Operation and maintenance
A person is considered competent to operate and maintain the system if he/she has
the expertise and experience in the relevant field, is sufficiently familiar with use of the
driver assistance system, and has been instructed how to operate it by the operating
organization.
Operators are permitted to clean and check the driver assistance system.
