10.10.4 Important clarifications

Sketch out the reading situation and enter the parameter values and variables for the

CLV490.

Determine the reading range and installation height of the CLV490 above the conveyor

belt:

With a covered conveyor belt with a 600 mm (23.6 in) width, the CLV490 can read an

object at a distance of 600 mm (23.6 in) (according to the reading field diagram in

Fig. 10-1, Page 10-3

). For a reserve of an additional 100 mm (3.9 in) and a maximum

pakkage height of 600 mm (23.6 in), the resulting reading range of the CLV490 can be

set to 700 to 1,300 mm (27.6 to 51.2 in) from the reading window.

The CLV490 is to be mounted 1,400 mm (55.2 in) above the conveyor belt, as the pak-

kage must be at least 100 mm (3.9 in) high.

For the required total field depth range of 600 mm (23.6 in), a height detection of the

focal position changeover is required.

10.10.5 Mounting and electrical connection

Mount the CLV490 centered 1,400 mm (55.2 in) above the conveyor belt (vertically)

according to a)

The CLV490 can carry out a distance measurement from the front of the package to

the top of the package while it is in motion.

Attach the pulse photoelectric switch and reflector to the conveyor belt so that there is

a distance of approx. 100 mm (3.9 in) between the photoelectric switch and the scan

line position on the package with the smallest height.

Connect the CLV490 to the CDB420 or CDM490 connection module.
