About Utensils and Coverings
The chart below will help you decide what utensils and coverings should be used in each mode.
Small flat pieces of aluminum foil placed smoothly
on food can be used to shield areas from cooking or
defrosting too quickly. Keep foil at least 2 cm from walls
of oven.

Use microwave-safe plastic
containers for reheating and
defrosting. Some microwave-
safe plastics are not suitable
f o r c o o k i n g f o o d s w i t h
high sugar content. Follow
manufacturer’s directions.
Care must be taken as
some containers warp,
melt or discolour at high
temperatures.
Only use for warming or to
absorb moisture. Care must
be taken, as overheating
may cause fi re. Do not use
recycled paper towels which
may contain metal fi lings.
Oven-proof porcelain, pottery, glazed earthenware
and bone china are usually suitable. Do not use the
container if it has a fl aw.
Care should be taken if using fi ne glassware as it can break or crack if heated
suddenly.

In general, porcelain is suitable. Please be sure that your
porcelain does not contain any metal or gold or silver

To prevent the glass tray from breaking:
• Before cleaning the glass tray with water, leave the glass tray to cool.
• Do not place anything hot on a cold glass tray.
• Do not place anything cold on a hot glass tray.
