There are three ways to open firewall ports:

•

Enable Universal Plug and Play (UPnP)

This works for 

devices that support the UPnP protocol.

•

Select a port forwarding rule

Port forwarding rules open 

firewall ports. The Command Center provides system defined 
rules for many popular devices and applications.

•

Create a port forwarding rule

If no system defined rule 

exists for a device, it is possible to create one yourself. This 
requires some networking knowledge. You can contact Sereniti 
technical support for assistance.

For a more detailed discussion of port forwarding, including step-by-
step instructions for enabling UPnP, selecting a rule and creating a rule, 
see Chapter 10.
