13.4.1 General Spares
When going out on a trip, make sure you have plenty of spares. It is much easier to carry a
spare fibre optic cable than try and repair one in the field. Same applies to batteries, always
have spares. Remember fuses and a Philips screw driver. A volt/ohm meter is also useful.
13.5 Storage Cases
Equipment that is transported and stored loosely is more susceptible to damage. All equipment
should be stored in its shipping case or a storage box. Sensors & Software has optional
shipping cases available for some components and systems.
13.6 Upgrading Embedded Software on DVL
From time to time, Sensors & Software release new software for the DVL. The instructions
below describe how to update this software. Please note that this procedure will
erase all GPR
data
from the system, so export any valuable data before continuing.
