POST-OPERATION CARE
WARNING
Allow engine to cool before per-
forming any maintenance.
General Care
Remove the watercraft from the wa-
ter every day to prevent marine organ-
isms growth.
Should any water be present in the
hull, unscrew the drain plugs and tilt
the watercraft to the rear in order to
allow water to flow out.
Wipe up any remaining fluid in the en-
gine compartment (bilge, engine, bat-
tery, etc.) with clean dry rags (this
is particularly important in salt water
use).
Additional Care for Foul
Water or Salt Water
When the watercraft is operated in
foul water and particularly in salt wa-
ter, additional care should be taken to
protect the watercraft and its compo-
nents.
It is a good practice to lubricate throttle
body after every 10 hours of use, refer
to
MAINTENANCE
section for proce-
dure.
Rinse watercraft bilge area with fresh
water.
Never use a high pressure washer
to clean the bilge.
USE LOW PRES-
SURE ONLY (like a garden hose).
High pressure can cause electrical or
mechanical damages.
CAUTION:
Failure to perform prop-
er care such as: watercraft rinsing,
exhaust cooling system
fl
ushing
and anticorrosion treatment, when
watercraft is used in salt water, will
result in damage to the watercraft
and its components. Never leave
the watercraft stored in direct sun-
light.
Exhaust Cooling System
Flushing
General
Flushing the exhaust cooling system
with fresh water is essential to neu-
tralize corroding effects of salt or other
chemical products present in water. It
will help to remove sand, salt, shells or
other particles in water jackets and/or
hoses.
Flushing should be performed when
the watercraft is not expected to be
used further the same day or when the
watercraft is stored for any extended
time.
WARNING
Perform this operation in a well
ventilated area.
Proceed as follows:
Clean jet pump by spraying water in
its inlet and outlet and then apply a
coating of XP-S LUBE or equivalent.
WARNING
When operating the engine while
the watercraft is out of the water,
the heat exchanger in the ride plate
may become very hot. Avoid any
contact with ride plate as burns
may occur.
Models Without a Flushing
Connector in Engine
Compartment
Connect a garden hose to connector
located at the rear of watercraft on jet
pump support. Do not open water tap
yet.
NOTE:
An optional quick connect
adapter can be used (P/N 295 500
473). No hose pincher is required to
flush engine.
