6.9.2 Venting unit
The venting unit is actuated by the control cable with the lever
mounted on the control handle.
Procedure:
1.
Lower the workpiece in the desired location.
2.
Once the load is positioned securely on the supporting surface, hold the twist grip or control lever
in position and pull the venting unit lever.
The suction pad will be vented.
3.
Hold onto the venting unit lever tightly and move the twist grip or control lever slightly into the
“Lift” position. The suction pads detach from the workpiece.
4.
As soon as the load has been released by the suction pad, you can release the venting unit lever.
6.9.3 Replacing the suction pads without a quick-change adapter
Procedure:
1. Switch off vacuum generator.
2. Remove the four screws (3) from the suction pad and detach
the operator handle (1) from the suction pad (2).
3. Mount the operator handle (1) onto the other suction pad
(2).
4. Using four screws (3) and toothed lock washers,
secure the suction pads (2) to the operator
handle (1) (tightening torque 12Nm for M6/15 Nm for M8).
Risk of injury from falling workpieces
Premature activation of the venting unit will cause the workpiece and
gripper to sag suddenly.
This can result in a crushing injury.

Do not activate the venting unit until the workpiece is positioned fully on
a secure surface.
