Note
: Before commencing any disassembly of the actuator, ensure that the actuator is isolated from the
supply pressure and mechanical end stops are released.
Note
: Support the cylinder with proper lifting devices (Refer to page
12-15
) for removing the cylinder assembly
parts from frame.
1.
Remove frame cover fasteners (item 20 & 21) and place the parts on table away from the cylinder
assembly.(Refer the exploded view on page 40)
2.
Remove the frame cover (item 23) with gasket (item 19) and place it on table away from the actuator.
(Refer the exploded view on page 40)
Warning:
Remember that a preloaded spring is included in the cylinder.( If SR Actuator )
3.
Slowly unthread the screws (item 45) of the tie rods (item 40) in the proper sequence, then remove the
same screws with their washers (item 46).
Note
: If Hammering is desired on to the machined parts, use nylon hammer.
4.
Remove the end flange (item 32) along with end stroke assembly from liner (item 43) by using nylon
hammer to tap uniformly around the end flange. Place the end flange with end stroke assembly on table
away from cylinder assembly.
5.
If desired, remove the seal (item 44) from end flange.
6.
Remove the circlip (item 33) which holds the end stroke screw (item 36).
7.
Remove the end stroke screw (item 36) with locking nut (item 35) from end flange. Then remove the
locking nut from the end stroke screw.
8.
If desired, remove the seal (item 34) from locking nut.
9.
If the actuator is spring return then remove the springs (item 47) from cylinder liner.
10.
Gradually remove the cylinder liner (item 43) from head flange (item 25) and place it carefully without
damaging the inside surface, away from the work bench.
11.
Remove the tie-rods (item 40) one by one from the head flange (item 25) by unthreading it from screws.
12.
Unthread the screw (item 30) with washer (item 31), then remove the piston (item 42) from the piston
rod (item 5) and carefully place it on table away from the work bench without damaging the surfaces of
the piston.
13.
If desired, remove the seal (item 28) and the guide slider (item 41) from piston.
Note
: If the actuator is VA0 model, the cylinder head flange (item 25) is integrated with frame. So skip the points
14 and 15.
14.
Remove the socket head screws (item 27) with seal washers (item 52) which holds the head flange
(item 25) to the frame and remove the head flange. Place it on table away from the frame.
15.
If desired, remove the external seal (item 39) and internal seal (item 26) from the head flange.
