REMAINING HAZARDS
The machine has been built using modern technology
in accordance with recognized safety rules. Some re
-
maining hazards, however, may still exist.
•
The splitting tool can cause injuries to fingers and
hands if the wood is incorrectly guided or supported.
•
Thrown pieces can lead to injury if the work piece is
not correctly placed or held.
• Injury through electric current if incorrect electric
connection leads are used.
•
Danger due to particular properties of the log
(branches, irregular shape etc)
Even when all safety measures are taken, some re
-
maining hazards which are not yet evident may still
be present.
Remaining hazards can be minimized by following
the safety instructions as well as the instructions in
the chapter Authorized use and in the entire operat
-
ing manual.

* The maximum achievable splitting power depends
on the resistance of the material to be split and can,
due to influencing variable, deflect to the hydraulic
system.
7. Assembly
For reasons of packing, your log splitter is not com
-
pletely assembled.
Assembling the operating arm, Fig. 2
Place operating arm (A) in the lateral connection (C),
and tighten the hexagon screw (B), with the disc and
the safety bolt. The safety bolt should only be tight-
ened to the point where the operating arm can still
be moved.
Assemble of the support wheels Fig. 3
Screw the two tabs (D) of the support wheels with 2
hexagon bolts M10 and 2 slices of 10 mm screw on
both sides by hand, to the housing.
Sliding axis (E) by the two tabs (D).
Slide Washer, support wheel (F), washer on both
sides on the axis. After this fix it by pressing the safe
-
ty caps (G) on the axis. Tighten both straps.
Mount the rubber stopper, Fig. 4
Mount the rubber stopper on both operating arms
with a retaining plate, 2 carriage plates M 8x35, 2
washers 8 mm and 2 safety nuts M8.
Splitting wedge extension, Fig. 5
If, when splitting logs of up to 104 cm, the splitting
stroke is insufficient, the splitting wedge extension
can be used to assist.
Warning! When using the splitting wedge extension,
neither the plug-in table or the swing table can be in
the splitting area. Remove or swing it away from the
machine.
To assembly, push the splitting wedge extension over
the splitting wedge. Tighten up bolt (H) to 40 Nm and
turn bolt (I) until it lies on the splitting wedge.
Never hang the splitting wedge extension on the prod
-
uct, rather store it in a safe place when it is not in use.
8.Starting the equipment
When working at temperatures less than 5°C, the ma
-
chine should be operated ca. 15 minutes without a
load, so the hydraulic oil can warm up.
Make sure the machine is completely and expertly as
-
sembled. Check before every use:
• The connection cables for any defective spots
(cracks, cuts etc.).
• The machine for any possible damage.
• The firm seat of all bolts.
• The hydraulic system for leakage.
• The oil level.
Venting, Fig. 6
Before working with the log splitter, vent the hydraulic
system.
• Release the venting cap (K) by a few revolutions
so the air can escape from the oil tank.
• Leave the cap open during the operation.
• Before you move the log splitter, close the cap
again in order not to lose any oil.
If the hydraulic system is not vented, the enclosed air
will damage the gaskets and with it the complete log
splitter.
