OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
for permanent magnetic lifting magnet
WORKHOLDING AND AUTOMATION
5. Maintenance and inspection:
a) Before each use:
- Visually inspect the entire magnet.
- Wipe clean pole shoes and surface of the load sufficiently and, as the case may be, remove
burrs and bumps using a file.
- Check the function of the switching mechanism and handle lock.
- Do not use the magnet if you find any defects.
b) Weekly:
- Check the entire magnet including hoisting eye, locking block, and screws for deformations,
cracks and other defects. If the hoisting eye is deformed or if its diameter is worn off by more
than 10 %, it has to be replaced by the manufacturer.
- Check the existence and readability of type plates and instruction signs.
- Inspect the pole shoes. If more than 10 % of their surface is damaged (holes, scores, etc.)
they need to be reground by the supplier or another authorized workshop.
The lifting capacity is tested after each intervention.
c) Annually:
At least once per year have the nominal holding force of the load lifting magnet be verified
by the manufacturer or an authorized supplier (European standard UNI EN 13155:2004).
Adhere to the ruling health and safety regulations!
In addition to fulfilling the legal requirements, it is recommended to observe the following maintenance
