OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

for permanent magnetic lifting magnet

WORKHOLDING AND AUTOMATION

4. Operation:

Please read the notes on the proper use, the safety instructions, and the notes on unsafe

applications before operating this lifting magnet.

It is important to familiarize yourself with the most essential parts of the lifting magnet before

using it in a production environment.

Wipe the pole faces of the magnet and the contact area of the load clean. Place the magnet

as accurately as possible in the center of gravity of the load.

Make sure that the load does not exceed the rated lifting capacity of the lifter.

The lifter is in

position ”OFF”

Please note that easy switching will only occur on a flat and smooth

workpiece with sufficient thickness.

Switching the lifter ON

Pull the spring loaded lever out of the handle lock and turn counter-

clockwise by 150 degrees. Make sure that the lever is safely locked in

its position before lifting is started.

Note: Models 150, 300 and 600 are provided with a different handle

lock and do not need to be pulled out. Simply turn to switch on!

Never attempt to switch the magnet on when it is not in contact with a

ferromagnetic load!
The lifter is in

position ”ON”

Lift the load a few cm and jog the hoist to make sure the load is se-

curely held.

Switching the lifter OFF

Pull the spring loaded lever out of the handle lock and turn it clockwise

by 150 degrees to position

”OFF”

Guide the load by its corners. Keep it horizontal and always

stay clear of the load!

Set the load down on a stable surface or support.

Lift the magnet away carefully.

Make sure the handle is locked!

CAUTION: Light workpiece may still stick to the magnet after

same has been switched off!
