7. DISTINCTIVE RINGING (FOR AUSTRALIA ONLY)
If you subscribe to a distinctive ringing service from your telephone company, you will need to DUAL RING
(FUNCTION 85) to turn on the Distinctive Ringing function. When this is done, your fax machine will signal
voice calls by the normal ringing pattern, and fax tranmissions by a special ringing pattern. In the case of a fax
tranmission, your fax machine will automatically answer the call after 2 rings and receive the fax.
Important: the Distinctive Ringing function can only be used if you subscribe to a distinctive ringing service
from your telephone company. Do not set DUAL RING to WITH if you are on a normal line, as
the fax machine will not operate properly.
8. USING A PORTABLE PHONE (DEPENDING ON MODEL)
You can connect a portable phone (GSM) to your machine. This will allow you to send or receive faxes
through your portable phone.
To do so you have to purchase the Fax-Portable phone connection kit from your local retailer. The mobile
kit includes an operating instructions handbook. Please refer to the handbook for further information.
