IMPORTANT ADVICE
The powerful SAFEX
®
-FOG MACHINES are constructed for the production of a high quantity of
fog output!
Short, very frequent impulses of turning on (less than 5 - 10 sec.) will charge the machines
much more than a longer fog-period with a lower quantity and can in this way lead to a too fast
wearing out of the heat exchanger.
Therefore, it is, instead of the „impulse-operating“, more reasonable to reduce the quantity of
fog output by means of a fog output control valve and to produce fog for longer periods or to
use a less powerful, but cheaper SAFEX
®
-FOGFLUID.
Durability (Life) of the heat exchanger and the pump will be considerably raised.
Even „racing-cars“ cannot always be driven in first gear.
C SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
All SAFEX
®
-FOG MACHINES are constructed according to the Directive 2006/42/EC on machinery,
and amending Directive 95/16/EC, the German ProdSG as well the DIN/VDE regulation 0700/part 245
in the actual versions.
GENERAL USE
1.) The machines are equipped with a safety device. If the heating does not work properly or in case of a
defect of the main fuse (short circuit), the red control lamp will go on and all other control lamps will go
off.
2.) Replace fuse only when machine is switched off and use only proper spare part (heat coil fuse 5 x 20
mm).
3.) Do not put electric machines in operation, which may have been damaged by dropping, since the safety
devices may be affected, even if there is no damage visible from the outside. In case of doubt, immedi-
ately disconnect the machine from power and send it in for repair.
4.) Unauthorized repair or tampering with the regulation devices can lead to serious hazards and
destruction of the machine. Repairs should be made only by authorized service stations.
5.) The machines are designed for continuous use (100 % operating time). However, for the sake of a long
life of the machine, it is wise to switch it on only immediately before use and to switch it off during longer
pauses. In case of permanent installation, it is recommendable to equip the circuit with a night cut-off
service.
6.) Make sure that adequate ventilation of the machine is possible. When installing the machine into props,
keep a
free area of at least 10 cm
around the machine. (Sufficient air exchange is ensured if at least
one side of the enclosure is open.)
7.) In places with public admittance, the machine must be
out of reach
for audience. Connection to power
source must correspond to the regulations (VDE/DIN-standard). Extend remote control cable with prop-
er connections and adequate lines only.
PASSIVE USE
(STATE OF READINESS)
Do not stand directly in front of the machine during heating stage
(safety distance: approx.
1 m)
. Do not place any inflammable material, such as paper, textiles, wood wool, wrapping material etc. on
electric machines or in their immediate surroundings. The fog outlet of the machine must be directed towards
open space!
ACTIVE USE
(FOG PRODUCTION)
Allow produced fog to be blown
towards open space
. Never direct it directly on
persons or scenery ob-
jects
(minimum distance: 2 m). Never blow fog on hot surfaces or into open flames, glowing heating ele-
