GENERAL SAFETY RULES



Do not, under any circumstance, use any attachment
or accessory on this product, which was not provided
with the product or identified as appropriate for use
with this product in the operator’s manual.



Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean and
free from oil and grease.

Slippery handles and grasping

surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the
tool in unexpected situations.

BATTERY TOOL USE AND CARE



Recharge only with the charger specified by the manu-
facturer.

A charger that is suitable for one type of battery

pack may create a risk of fire when used with another
battery pack.



Use appliances only with specifically designated bat-
tery packs.

Use of any other battery packs may create a

risk of injury and fire.



When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from
other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails,
screws or other small metal objects, that can make a
connection from one terminal to another.

Shorting the

battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.



Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from
the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally oc-

curs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, addition-
ally seek medical help.

Liquid ejected from the battery

may cause irritation or burns.



Do not use a battery pack or tool that is damaged or
modified.

Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit

unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion or risk
of injury.



Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fire or exces-
sive temperature.

Exposure to fire or temperature above

265°F may cause explosion.



Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the
battery pack or tool outside the temperature range
specified in the instructions.

Charging improperly or at

temperatures outside the specified range may damage
the battery and increase the risk of fire.

SERVICE



Have your appliance serviced by a qualified repair
person using only identical replacement parts.

This

will ensure that the safety of the appliance is maintained.



Never service damaged battery packs.

Service of bat-

tery packs should only be performed by the manufacturer
or authorized service providers.

SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES



Know your power tool.

 Read operator’s manual care-

fully. Learn its applications and limitations, as well as the
specific potential hazards related to this power tool. Fol-
lowing this rule will reduce the risk of electric shock, fire,
or serious injury.



Always wear eye protection with side shields marked
to comply with ANSI Z87.1 along with hearing protec-
tion when operating this equipment.



Ensure handle is mounted in accordance with the as-
sembly instructions in this manual.



Dress Properly

 – Use of rubber gloves and substantial

footwear is recommended when working outdoors. Wear
heavy, long pants, long sleeves, boots, and gloves. Do
not wear loose fitting clothing or jewelry or anything that
can be caught in moving parts. Secure long hair above
shoulder level to prevent entanglement in moving parts.



Brush thrust is a reaction force that occurs when the
rotating brushes contact the cleaning surface.

 This

contact causes the sweeper to “thrust” itself toward the
operator as the brushes begin to turn. This reaction can
be violent enough to cause the operator to lose control
of the unit. Brush thrust can occur without warning, but
it is more likely to occur when the rotating brushes are
placed on the cleaning surface too quickly. To minimize

the thrust reaction, hold the unit securely with both hands
and slowly lower the rotating brushes onto the cleaning
surface.



Do not operate the sweeper unless the deflector is
firmly secured in place and in good condition.



Keep firm footing and balance.

 Do not overreach. Over-

reaching can result in loss of balance.



During use, the rotating brushes will throw dirt and
debris away from the user.

 Do not operate the sweeper

in a direction that will cause dirt or debris to be thrown on
people or pets. Thrown debris or other objects can cause
serious personal injuries.



Store Idle Sweeper Indoors

 — When not in use, the

sweeper should be stored indoors in a dry, locked up
place — unplugged and out of the reach of children.



Never use sweeper near fires, fireplaces, hot ashes,
bar becue pits, etc.

Use near fires or ashes can spread

fires and result in serious injury and/or property damage.



Never use sweeper to spread chemicals, fertilizers, or
any other toxic substances.

 Spreading these substances

could result in serious injury to the operator or bystanders.



Check the work area before each use.

 Remove all

objects such as rocks, broken glass, nails, wire, or string
which can be thrown or become entangled in the machine.
