Synopsis: integer
Default: 1
The bundle number
on-demand
This interface is up or down on demand of link fail over.
In the Bundle field, enter a bundle number (the default is 1). An MLPPP connection is added and an
interface for this connection appears under the ip menu.
Figure 23.12. Adding IP and Remote Addresses
Navigate to ip/{mlppp-interface}/ipv4 and click Add address. The Key settings form appears. In the
IPaddress field, enter the IP address and click Add. The Addresses form appears.
In the Peer field, enter the remote IP address.
Click the Commit button and then click the Exit Transaction button.
You can add multiple PPP interfaces to a MLPPP link by configuring the same bundle
number across all t1/e1 channels that are part of MLPPP.
23.2.3.6. Configuring HDLC-ETH
HDLC-ETH refers to Ethernet over an HDLC (High-Level Data Control) connection on a T1/E1 line.
This connection passes Ethernet packets from a LAN through a T1/E1 line by creating a virtual switch
containing one or more ethernet interfaces and an HDLC-ETH interface. For information on configuring
a virtual switch, see
Chapter 19, Virtual Switch Bridging
A t1/e1 interface configured for HDLC-ETH works like a routable ethernet port (that is, fe-cm-1,
switch.0001) which can be configured with an IP address and subnet mask. Because it acts like an
ethernet port, you do not need to configure a peer IP address for an HDLC-ETH interface.
