Continuity check with alarm
The tested circuit or component must not be live.
- Turn the selector dial to position OHM and subsequently push the MODE button to
select the resistance measurement mode.
- The acoustic alarm sounds if the resistance of the component measured is less than 150
V or in the case of a short circuit (0 V).
- In case of an open circuit the overload symbol (OL) appears on the display.
Testing diodes
The tested circuit or component must not be live.
- Turn the selector dial to position Ω and subsequently push the MODE button to select
the diode testing mode.
- Place the contacts of the prongs onto the tested element. The red test lead is for the
anode. The forward voltage is shown on the display.
Non-contact AC detector
The device is equipped with a sensor to detect AC voltages.
Test the function of the sensor and signal lamp at a known hot AC-
conductor to prevent the risk of electrocution.
Note:
- Conductors inside power cords are often twisted. Move the sensor along
the whole insulation of the power cord to determine the hot conductor.
- The detector is highly sensitive. Static discharges or other power sources
may trigger it. This is not a malfunction.
- Hold the sensor to a hot conductor or the
hot side of a mains socket.
- The signal lamp will illuminate at the
presence of AC voltage.
