Taking out of service
11 Taking out of service
11.1 Temporary shutdown
If a heating or hot water supply is not to be required for a longer
period of time, it is possible to temporarily shut down the
ROTEX A1. However, ROTEX recommends putting the system
into standby mode (see the documentation concerning "ROTEX
controller). The heating system is then protected from frost. The
pumps and valve protection functions are active.
If it is not possible to guarantee the gas and power supply when
there is danger of frost,
– The ROTEX A1 must be drained
– The condensate box must be emptied,
– Suitable antifreeze measures must be taken for the con-
nected heating system and hot water storage tank (e.g. drain-
ing).
Draining the heating system
Ɣ
Switch off the main switch and secure against restarting.
Ɣ
Close the gas isolation valve.
Ɣ
Bleed all the water in the entire system at the filling and
draining sockets (KFE cock).
11.2 Final shutdown and disposal
For the final shutdown, the ROTEX A1 must be:
Ɣ
Taken out of service,
Ɣ
Disconnect it from all electrical, gas and water connections,
Ɣ
Disposed off in a professional manner.
Recommendations for disposal
The ROTEX A1 is designed to be environmentally friendly.
During the disposal process, the only waste created is that which
can be used for material or thermal recycling. The materials used
can be separated into different types.
CAUTION!
A heating system which is shut down can freeze in the
event of frost and may suffer damage.
Ɣ
Drain the heating system that is shut down if there
is danger of frost.
Ɣ
If the heating system is not drained, the gas and
power supplies must be secured and the main
switch must remain switched on.
ROTEX, thanks to the environmentally friendly design
of the ROTEX A1, has established the preconditions to
ensure environmentally friendly disposal. Proper dis-
posal in compliance with the respective national regula-
tions of the country of use is the responsibility of the
user/owner.
