Latch Inspection and Adjustment
Check locking latches for proper operation. In
spect for worn or missing parts. Replace worn or
damaged parts and adjust as required.
1. AIR LATCHES
Depress air valve and check latch operation on all
four corners. When locks are retracted, the lock
ing latch should pull back flush with yoke end.
Adjust if required by loosening jam nuts and
screwing the clevis up towards cylinder. Tighten
jam nuts.
NOTE: Locking latches require 6 bar. min. to 8
bar. max. air pressure. Excessive air pressure
can affect lock release mechanism and air cylin
der wear.
2. LATCH and LATCH BAR LINE-UP
Observe locking latches during lift operation to
ensure that all latches line up with slots in latch
bar located in all four columns. If not, relocate
and/or re-shim columns.
For SM40-47-BMW .the air cylinder under the
crossbeam.
