B- When the pressure of the network is higher than 5 bars, it is necessary to install a pressure
reducer as near as possible to the meter.
1.5. Electrical installation
The appliance requires a single-phase 230 V supply. It is necessary to check carefully that
the supply voltage agrees with the required voltage of the appliance. The heater does not
need installation requirements outside the norm, therefore it is suitable for installation in
accordance with the Electrotechnical Low Voltage Regulations. Although it is well known by
the installers, we include below some of the basic rules.
For installations in bathrooms or toilets, please take into account the following volume
considerations and explanations for each one:
PROHIBITION VOLUME: This volume is made up of the space within the vertical planes tangent
to the outer edges of the bathtub, toilet, washbasin or shower, and the horizontal planes made
up of the floor and a level of 2.25 m above the base of the fittings or 2.25 m above the floor
where the fittings are embedded into it.
PROTECTION VOLUME: This is comprised of the same horizontal planes described in the
prohibited volume and other vertical planes located within 1 m of those already mentioned.
In the PROHIBITION VOLUME: switches, sockets and lighting must not be installed within this
volume.
In the PROTECTION VOLUME: switches must not be installed within this volume, but secure
sockets with differential protection may be installed.
The heater must be installed outside of the PROHIBITION VOLUME. The power supply will
have to be wired through a omnipolar interrupter, circuit breaker or contactor. The installation
must be protected with fuses of a rating that corresponds with the intensity absorbed. The
socket must be placed in such a way that when the heater is installed the plug is accessible.
An earth connection must be included throughout the electrical installation. In order to
ensure this connection the plug comes provided with the relevant contact. It is important
that the style of any other plug used is the same type as the one provided with the appliance.
The electrical system of the premises or house must be checked to ensure that it is equipped
with an “EARTH” wire. This appliance complies with the regulations on radio-electric
disturbances and interferences.
NOTE:
All maintenance and replacement of the fittings is prohibited (including the feed cable),
unless it is by the Technical Assistance Service.
