Working with the
ARBOTOM
®
Preparation
Before attaching the sensors, be careful to choose the right position. There are no general rules
where to perform the analysis, since every situation is different and requires its own special
evaluation. We recommend performing a visual assessment of the tree first. Understanding the body
language of the tree will help to make your choice easier.
Choose an adequate number of sensors. Small trees may require fewer sensors whereas you will need
mores sensors for big trees. Keep in mind that a higher number of sensors will increase the resolution.
The ARBOTOM
®
can be applied in every position. Trunks (horizontal) as well as branches (vertical)
can be examined.
Please note that physical properties of wood change significantly as the temperature drops below 0°C
(32°F). Measurements below this temperature lead to incorrect results.
