3. DRUM
3.1 DRUM REPLACEMENT
1. Open the middle
unit and press the
cleaning unit re-
lease lever to the
rear.
2. Remove the pick-off
pawl unit. (2 knob
screws, 2 connec-
tors)
3. Loosen the four
screws and remove
the middle right
cover.
4. Remove the screw
securing the left side
of the main board
and swing the the
main board to the right.
5. Remove the ground screw [A] securing the cover plate [B]; then, move
the cover plate slightly to the right and remove it.
NOTE:
Never touch the drum surface with your bare hands. Use a sheet of
paper between your hand and the drum to avoid contact.
6. Support the drum
with your left hand
and loosen the
drum lock knob [C]
with your right
hand.
7. Remove the drum
from the front and
rear flanges, being
careful not to dam-
age the drum sur-
face.
