This function erases the image on the outside
or inside of a specified area when copying.

Save Area(Erase Outside)
This mode erases the image on the outside
of a specified area when coping.

Delete Area(Erase Inside)
This mode erases the image on the inside
of a specified area when copying.
Limitation

You cannot select both Erase Outside and
Erase Inside functions at the same time or
with the Erase Center or Border function
at the same time.
❏
Several millimeters around the specified
area are not copied.

To specify the area to be erased, measure
and enter the four dimensions X1, X2, Y1,
and Y2 (in mm) from the upper right cor-
ner of the original.

Set originals whose erase area is specified
as shown in the above figure as are when
setting in the document feeder and up side
down when setting on the exposure glass.

The area once defined remains valid until
the [Cancel] key is pressed, when a new
area is defined, or when Auto Reset or
Crear Modes is effected.
