
An LED array gives better light at start-up than a xenon
lamp.

Shading Adjustment

The white plate for shading adjustment is attached to the back of the scale.
Just after the power switch is turned on, the machine performs shading
adjustment; at this time, the scanner unit moves to the white plate.

For normal (book mode) scanning, the machine performs shading every
page regardless of BW or color.

For ADF scanning, the machine performs shading before the 1st sheet of
the original is scanned regardless of BW or color, and then after that the
machine performs shading for following sheets at regular intervals (one
minute or more).
