Ch-C1 Training

Slide 67

Paper Thickness Detection



If the wrong paper weight setting is used, there
may be a jam, insufficient fusing, or even
damage to the machine.



Both the Office and Pro versions have a paper
thickness detector. If the paper being fed does
not match the selected paper type (within a
certain tolerance), paper feed is stopped.



The same mechanism also detects multi-feeds. If
the paper suddenly is thicker than the previous
sheets in a job, the machine stops printing.
