6.8.6 ADJUSTABLE BUFFER FINS
The printed paper bends upwards easily. This causes uneven stacking and ink
stains on the back of the paper on the delivery table. The buffer fins [A] on the
paper delivery table lift the edges of the paper, to prevent this problem. When the
paper is fed to the delivery table, these plates catch the edges of the paper, and
the paper falls in an inverted “U” shape, as shown in the diagram, with a gap
between each sheet. The plates catching the edges also make the paper fall more
slowly, and the ink dries before the paper reaches the stack.
The following table shows the recommended positions for these plates (and for the
paper guide wings) for each paper type.
