Multipleunitsmaybeconnectedtoasinglecircuitup
tothecircuitrating.
•Donotuse3-prongto2-prongadapters.Donotuse
powerstripsormultipleoutletadapters.
•Alldirect-ventgasmodelscomewithathree-prong
powercord.Onlyusethispowercordandamatching
groundedelectricaloutlet.
•Alloutdoorgasmodelsdonotcomewithapower
cord.Onlyhard-wiretoanappropriatepoweroutlet
withagroundterminal.
•Keepanyexcesslengthofthepowersupplycordon
theoutsideofthewaterheater.

Hard-Wiring the Electrical Connections
•Wiringshouldbeperformedbyaqualifiedelectrician
inaccordancewithlocalcodes.
•Thewaterheaterrequiresaproperlygrounded
120VAC/60Hzdedicatedpowersupply.Multiple
waterheatersmaybeconnectedtoasinglecircuit
uptothatcircuit’srating.
•DONOTconnectgroundingwiretowaterpipes,gas
pipes,telephonecables,lightingconductorcircuits,or
toanyothergroundingcircuitsthatrequireaGFCIor
AFCI(arcfaultcircuitinterrupter).
•AnON/OFFswitchmustbeprovidedandinstalledfor
theincoming120VACpowersupply.
•Wirethewaterheaterexactlyasshowninthewiring
diagram.Thiswiringdiagramcanalsobefound
insidethewaterheatercoverpanel.
•Thegreenscrewisprovidedintheenclosurefora
groundingconnection.
•Connectthelivewiretotheblackwireandneutral
wiretothewhiteneutralwire.
High-Altitude Installation
Thewaterheateriscertifiedforinstallationsupto
3,280ft.(1,000m)abovesealevel.Theinputratingof
thiswaterheaterisbasedonsealeveloperation.At
higherelevations,theactualinputratemaybelower
thanthevaluelistedontheratinglabel.
