POLE DISCORDANCE 

The pole discordance logic will detect an abnormality of the position of the three breaker poles. If this 
condition is maintained during the time setting, a three pole trip is generated. Given that the single-pole 
reclose cycles will produce a pole discordance condition, the time setting should be longer than the 
single pole reclose time. 
Pole discordance is enabled under the “Power Swing Block and other advanced settings.”
