Packing into Valise
11. Open valise and lay flat. For canopy versions ONLY, place the canopy kit in the valise with the
instruction label facing up. Ensure canopy kit line is fake folded and inserted along side of canopy
kit. (See Fig. 8)
12. Place folded raft into valise with inflation valve oriented closest to the hole in the side of the
valise. (See Fig. 8)
13. Begin with the loop on the painterline marked “to cylinder neck”. Secure the loop to the neck of
the cylinder by wrapping the painterline around the cylinder neck and pulling the painterline back
through the loop. Tighten. (See Figs. 9 & 10)
14. CAREFULLY secure the second loop, marked “to cable loop”, around the inflation valve pull cable
loop. After inserting the painterline loop though the inflation valve pull cable loop, pass the
painterline sachet back through the loop. Tighten, but be sure not to tug on the pull cable loop
as it could result in the activation of the inflation system. (See Figs. 9 & 11)
15. Lay painterline sachet lengthwise on top of cylinder with the extra length of exposed painterline
neatly folded to the side. (See Fig. 12)
16. Attach painterline sachet to valise using a 8” length of black nylon 1/16in. cord (IPL Fig. 1, Item
140). Run the cord through the two holes in both the valise and the sachet and secure with three
(3) bowline knots. Trim off any remaining cord. (See Fig. 12)
17. Remove the red velcro patch from the valise to expose the hole. Run painterline end with loop
marked “ painterline” through hole in the valise and the handle on the painterline patch. Pass
painterline patch back though the loop and tighten to secure to handle.

18. Tuck painterline back into the valise and close the velcro patch.
19. Shut the valise by mating all velcro strips together.
20. Fill out the raft information on the Coastal Compact Inflation Instruction with a waterproof
marker. (See Section 2 - Description Fig. 3)
