b) Start-Up
• The aerial wire of the receiver in the vehicle must be installed in the aerial tube included. The aerial tube is vertically
inserted into a special holder at the vehicle.
Never cut off the aerial wire, never wind up the aerial wire. This reduces the range extremely.
• Only use suitable driving batteries for the vehicle (see “Technical Data”). In the case of operation with unsuitable
driving batteries, there is a danger of damaging the vehicle (speed controller, receiver, servos, motor). Never oper-
ate the speed controller with a power unit, not even for test purposes.
• Always switch on the receiver first before operating the vehicle. Only then can the driving battery of the car be
connected with the speed controller and the speed controller be switched on. Otherwise, the vehicle might show
unpredictable responses!
Place the vehicle on an appropriate surface before connecting the driving battery or batteries, so that the
wheels can turn freely.
Check the position of the on/off switch of the speed controller and place it in the “OFF” position (switched
off).
Switch on the transmitter if you haven’t done it already. Check its function (e.g. operation display of the
transmitter). Exchange the batteries/rechargeable batteries when they become low.
The vehicle is intended for operation with a 4-cell LiPo battery or a 12-cell NiMH battery. Use the included
Y-adapter to use two equal 2-cell LiPo batteries or two 6-cell NiMH batteries. Never use other batteries or
ones with a higher number of cells!
Connect the driving battery or driving batteries to the speed controller.
Hold the vehicle, but do not reach into the drive unit. There is a risk of serious injury! Never hold the vehicle
by its wheels!
Now switch on the speed controller. The motor emits various sound signals (the motor is briefly activated
by the speed controller for this); then the vehicle is ready for operation.
• Before driving the model, check if it responds to the remote commands as expected.
Set the trimming for throttle/brake lever at the transmitter so that the engine no longer turns when the throttle/brake
lever is released (neutral position). Programme the neutral and full throttle positions at the speed controller if re-
quired; see chapter 10.
Set the transmitter trim for steering so that the front wheels are about straight. The exact setting for straight driving
can be performed during a drive.
