11. TROUBLESHOOTING
In the event of a system fault, the problem needs to be identified, along with a suitable solution. Some
faults are described in the pellet burner instruction manual, along with the related proposed solution. This
document contains additional information, which will come in handy for both the end user and the service
technicians.
No. FAULTS
CAUSES
SOLUTIONS
1.
Low temperatures in the
heated rooms
Insufficient heat output
The burner operating parameters need to
be adjusted.
Low set point temperature of
the boiler operating
thermostat
The set point of the boiler operating
thermostat needs to be raised (up to 90
o
C)
Low temperature set point of
the remote room thermostat
(where connected)
The room thermostat set point needs to be
raised
2.
High temperatures in the
heated rooms
High set point temperature
of the boiler operating
thermostat
The boiler thermostat set point needs to
be lowered
High temperature set point
of the remote room
thermostat (where
connected)
The room thermostat set point needs to be
lowered
3.
The boiler is working but
there is no combustion
process
The "START" signal is
missing
You need to check the status of the pellet
burner operating signal -
check the room
thermostat, the "START" switch, the boiler
operating thermostat.
4.
Difficulty igniting fuel
Poor quality fuel
You need to replace the fuel, most likely
due to its high humidity content, which
could be above the value required for
nominal burner operation.
5.
Emergency
boiler
overheating
No heat consumption or
incorrect adjustment of the
boiler parameters, or poor
functioning of the heating
system
You need to check the correct functioning
of the heating system and if necessary
make the correct adjustment to the
operating parameters of the pellet burner
and/or system control valves -
these
operations must be performed by an
authorised technician. When the boiler has
cooled down to ambient temperature and
the cause of the boiler overheating has
been remedied, unscrew the protection
cap from the emergency overheating
thermostat and press the rod until the
thermostat is reset, then screw the cap
back on.
6.
Failed fuel ignition
No fuel in the hopper
The fuel hopper must be filled
