6.3.2 Thermostat
It is important to note that the CGTH-Series heater is
controlled
b y a lo w v oltage (24V AC) thermostat s u p-
plied w ith the heater. The control transformer located
inside the bu rner s u pplies the necessary electrical
po w er to operate the thermostat. No other electrical
po w er to the thermostat is req u ired.
6.4 Ventin g Re q uirements
The CGTH-Series heater m u st b e installed w ith the
v enting system s u pplied or w ith the optional v enting
kit a v aila b le from Rapid Engineering LLC. DO NOT
connect this heater to a separate chimney and do not
common
v ent w ith any other f u el bu rning appliance.
The CGTH-Series heater employs a b alanced fl u e/air
v enting d u ct system and m u st conform to the follo w -
ing length req u irements:
Maxim u m Length: 10' (3 m)
Minim u m Length: 2.5' (.7 m)
Maxim u m El b o w s:T w o w ith nat u ral gas u nits,
one w ith propane gas u nits
6.4.1 Ventin g Codes
The location, size, installation and termination of
v ents, as w ell as the req u ired safe distances from
com bu sti b les w hen penetrating com bu sti b le w alls,
m u st comply w ith local codes and recommendations
of the local gas company. United States: Refer to

u el Gas Code NFPA 54/ANSI Z223.1 - latest
re v ision. Canada: Refer to Nat u ral Gas and Propane
Installation Code CSA B149.1 - latest re v ision.
6.4.2 Balanced Flue Construction
The b alanced fl u e consists of a 3" (8 m) diameter fl u e
w hich is concentrically positioned inside a 5" (13 cm)
diameter v ent pipe ( See Figure 5 ). The 5" (13 cm)
diameter v ent s u pplies o u tside air for com bu stion
w hile the 3" (8 cm) diameter fl u e carries the prod u cts
of com bu stion from the heater.
The b alanced fl u e is applica b le for b oth horizontal
and v ertical v enting arrangements. Vertical v enting
w ill req u ire the optional roof v enting kit a v aila b le from
Rapid Engineering LLC.

6.5 Non-Residential Installations
6.5.1 Aircraft Han g ars
The CGTH-Series heater may b e u sed in certain

This heater needs fresh air for safe operation
and must be installed so there are provisions
for adequate combustion and ventilation air.
