ASSEMBLY OF CUTTING
UNITS TO MACHINE
PREPARATIONS
l
Unpack the cutting units and distribute them
around the tractor near the attachment points.
l
For each cutting unit, lubricate the inside of the
housing where the hydraulic motor attaches.
l
Locate the five, round couplers shipped loose
with the tractor.
ATTACHING THE CUTTING UNITS
1. Lubricate coupler C Fig.18 with non-tracking
grease and insert it (either side of coupler) into
the motor attachment housing A Fig.18. Press
the coupler firmly on the reel tang at the rear.
NOTE: Detents in the coupler allow it to be
attached to the tang only one way.
2. Smear additional grease on the installed
coupler until the cavity is about 1/2 full.
3. Line up the tang on the shaft of the hydraulic
motor B Fig.18 so that it is approximately
perpendicular to the reel tang (small
adjustments are made by slightly rotating the
reel). Adjust so that the motor seats snugly
against the cutting unit flange and attach motor
with studs D fig.18, nuts E Fig.18 and
S.L.washers f Fig.18
4. Take the pivot shaft out of the tractor cutting
unit arm by removing end bolt B Fig.19.
5. Remove retaining collar C Fig.19 from the pivot
shaft.
6. Insert the pivot shaft into the yoke of the cutting
unit and secure by replacing retaining collar C
Fig.19.
7. Line up the pivot shaft with the tractor arm and
re-insert. Secure shaft with bolt B Fig.19.
8. Attach chain A Fig.20 to cutting unit with pin.
Secure with cotter.
After attaching all cutting units, perform
adjustments and set cutting heights with reference
to the separate operator's manual for the cutting
units.
