3.2 Alkaline Battery Adapter
An alkaline battery adapter is supplied with each MultiRAE
PLUS kit. It accepts four AA size alkaline batteries and can
be used in place of the Li ion or NiCd battery pack to
provide approximately 12-14 hours of operation. The
adapter is intended to be used in emergency situations when
there is no time to charge the rechargeable batteries.

To install the adapter, remove the cover of the monitor.
Unplug the Li ion or NiCd battery pack from the battery
connector and plug the alkaline battery adapter into the
battery connector.
The internal charging circuit will automatically detect the
alkaline battery adapter and prevent charging of the battery.
Note: The AA Alkaline battery adapter supplied by
RAE Systems Inc. is intrinsically safe!
