CALIBRATION OF MODULES
5.1
CALIBRATION
OF
THE 1W-2W-5W R.F.
POWER
AMPLIFIER
After
replacement
of
the
amplifier,
the
following
procedure
should be followed SETUP 1 (Fig.4):
1)
Connect a 30dB attenuator between the R.F. output and a power meter.
2)
Switch on the transmitter and wait for the PLL to lock and the power
output to be enabled.
3)
Use the external wattmeter, to adjust the trimmer R3, situated on
the Power Supply card, for a power output 1W for the 1W version,
2W for the 2W version and 5W for the 5W version, if necessary.
4)
Set the meter selector (13 Fig.1) to FWD and adjust R21 on the
Anameter card for a reading of 1W for 1W version (2W for 2W the
version, 5W for the 5W version) on the transmitter’s own meter
(17 Fig.1).
WARNING
-
The SWR Alarm is been disabled because the final stage is able to
stand an infinite SWR condition.
-
Forward power reading is reliable only when the equipment supplies
output power on a 50 Ohm adapted load.
5.2 CALIBRATION OF THE POWER SUPPLY
The only adjustment required after replacement of the power supply
are those detailed in 5.1 (Calibration of the R.F. Power Amplifier).
It is sufficient to follow steps 1 to 7 of this procedure after the power
supply has been replaced.
