4 Troubleshooting and fixing faults
This section is aimed at experienced users who carry out installation and maintenance work.
The explanations should help users fix problems and faults they encounter during normal
operation of the RIDA
®
QUICK SCAN. Only problems that can be detected and fixed directly
on the RIDA
®
QUICK SCAN measuring device (and any external components that are
connected) are described here.
Fault:
When I switch on the device the display is blank
Cause:
The battery is empty (with battery operation)
Help:

Connect the RIDA
®
QUICK SCAN to the mains power supply with the
supplied power unit and charge the battery for at least 10 hours. While
the batteries are charging you can use the RIDA
®
QUICK SCAN device
as usual.
Cause:
You did not press the ON switch (3) for long enough
Help:
-
Press the middle key (3) on the keypad for at least one second.
Cause:
The device is in Update Mode
Help:
-
Press the UP key (
▲
). The device changes to switch-off mode. Now
you can switch the device on as usual (see Section 3.1).

Alternatively, you could interrupt the power supply by removing the
power
unit
and
the
batteries.
You
can
then
switch
the
RIDA
®
QUICK SCAN device on again as usual.
Fault:
Temperature display is always 0°C
Cause:
The internal detector is not connected properly.
Help:
-
The connection cable to the internal detector is not plugged in correctly.
If this is the case, contact your supplier. The cable may have to be
reconnected or readjusted.
Cause:
The internal temperature sensor is defective.
Help:
-
If this is the case, contact your supplier.
Fault:
Measurement can not be started
Cause:
The yellow lid is not closed
Help:
-
Close completely this lid.

Opening of the lid during the measurement will result in an immediate
stop of the measurement. The sensor will drive back into ist initial
positon.
