If you choose to enter parameters via barcode in the user interface of the measuring device
and if the barcode reader is connected, the activation signal of the barcode reader (triple
tone) sounds. The barcode reader is ready to use and can read barcodes.
Enter the barcode by pressing the yellow key on the barcode reader. While you hold the key
depressed a laser beam is emitted from the front opening of the reader. This is used to aim
the reader at the barcode and to read it. Do NOT stare into the laser beam.
A successfully recognised and decoded barcode is acknowledged by an audible signal and a
green light. The barcode has been transferred to the measuring device. The checksum is
generated and shown on the display.
The checksum must match the number on the text strip pack. If this is not the case, you
have to read the barcode again, as the calibration parameters may not be correct.
If the correct checksum is not shown after you read the barcode several times, contact your
sales partner.
Alternatively, you can transfer the barcode to the device by entering it manually. If you do this,
a checksum is also generated, which must also be identical to the number on the test strip
pack.
Repeat the process until a valid checksum is shown on the display. Otherwise, the result
could contain an error.
