The available range of plotter units for a particular
media size is only partially determined by setting the
Expand Mode to On. When the printer/plotter senses
the media size, it automatically sets the hard clip limit to
15 mm on three sides and 39 mm on the fourth. If
Expand Mode is On, then the hard clip limits are set to
5 mm on three sides and 29 mm on the fourth side. This
is what allows you to define a larger imageable area.
The HP-GL emulation senses the media type if the
paper type is set to Scale to Paper. It is also possible to
have the HP-GL emulation use a particular media size
by setting Original Paper Type through the control
panel or by using a Document Option Command.
