15. Once the hot end and print bed are at temperature, home the printer by pressing
Auto Homing Button (Figure 36).
16. On Printer Control Screen, select Move . In the Move Head screen and in Z-values,
press -50 twice to move bed up about 100 mm.

A negative move will reduce the distance between the bed plate and the
nozzle.
o
If a larger Z move is commanded, the machine will stop at 0.
17. Insert the 0.2 mm shim provided in the Tool Kit between the bed and the nozzle.
18. Physically lower the hot end height until it just touches the 0.2
mm shim.
WARNING: When moving the hot end, hold the coil part of the hot
end. Do not hold the hot end enclosed in red plastic. The hot end
and print bed are HOT.
19. Tighten the red Hot End Clamp handle to lock the hot end into position.
20. Twist the red clamp handle until you feel enough tension. Close the red clamp.
21. On the Printer Control Screen, select Move . In Z-values, press 5 to lower the print
bed 5 mm.
22. To confirm the position of the bed, close out of the Move screen and check the Print
Head Position to confirm that the Z-position is roughly 5.
