Stratum Installation and Maintenance Guide
Commands to Avoid when Using Remote Access
When accessing a Stratum remotely, do
NOT
use the following commands:

Running a Loopback
Test
Remote unit will no longer respond to the local unit and
the remote unit will need to be reset through the console
port or the Ethernet link.
Link Down
Ends the remote link so that the unit cannot be accessed
remotely.
Changing IP
Addresses
Ends session.
Ending the Remote Session
Select
[Remote Exit]
to terminate the session and return to the main menu of the local Stratum.
Using SNMP to Access the Stratum
Once the Stratum is installed, SNMP can be used to manage and monitor it. To enable traps by your SNMP
manager, first access the Stratum through some other method (e.g. through the console port) and configure SNMP
access as described below.
The Stratum supports MIB-II, RFC 1213, RFC 1406, and the Stratum MIB. Once SNMP access has been
configured, any standard SNMP management tool can be used to monitor performance.
Configuring SNMP Management

from the main menu. Then choose
[SNMP]
from the
System Administration screen.
