Spiritus verbrennen. Zur Zeit gibt es aber kein Dichtungsmaterial, das sowohl
resistent gegen Alkohol wie auch gegen Benzol ist (z.B. in Benzin oder
Petroleum enthalten). Primus forscht an einem neuen Material, aber noch
gibt es das nicht. Zur Zeit heißt es deshalb: Hände weg vom Spiritus!

Wo wird gekocht?
Draußen
Sonnenuntergang, Windstille, laue Luft – Sie lehnen sich zurück und riechen
den verführerischer Duft des Abendessens auf ihrem Kocher. Er steht auf
einem schönen großen, ebenen Fels. Das sind Idealverhältnisse – und leider
eher die Ausnahme… Suchen Sie sich einen ebenen und windgeschützten
Platz für den Kocher, oder bauen Sie sich einen mit Steinen. Achten Sie bei
Trockenheit darauf, daß Sie die Vegetation nicht in Brand setzen, und legen
Sie, bitte, steine, zurück, die Sie benützt haben.
Drinnen
Kochen Sie niemals im Zelt, in Gebäuden oder Fahrzeugen. Es ist aus
Sicherheitsgründen absolut tabu!
Im Schnee
Ein Loch im Schnee, in das Sie Ihren Kocher stellen, bietet natürlich idealen
Windschutz (vergessen Sie nicht eine Zuführung seitwärts oder von unten,
durch die frische, sauerstoffreiche Luft zuströmen kann). Nehmen Sie außer-
dem ein kleines Holzbrett mit, damit sich der Hitzkopf nicht in den Schnee
einschmilzt.

spirits. At the moment, however, there is no sealing compound that is re-
sistant against both alcohol and benzole (components of gas or paraffin).
Primus is doing research on a new material, but right now it doesn’t exist.
So for now:

Where do you cook?
Outdoors
Sunset, calm weather, warm air – you lean back, breathe the mouth-watering
smell of dinner on your stove which is placed on a beautiful, big, flat rock.
These are ideal conditions – but not very frequent, I’m afraid… Look for a flat
spot that is protected from the wind or build one of stones. In the dry sea-
son, be careful not to set the vegetation on fire. And please remember to put
any rocks that you have moved back to where you found them.
Indoors
Never use your Primus stove indoors (this includes all buildings, tents,
trailers, campers, cars etc.). For safety reasons it is strictly forbidden!
In the snow
A hole in the snow offers an ideal spot where to place your stove because it
will serve as a shelter for the wind. Do not forget to build an air supply pipe
from the side or below, to provide a flow of fresh oxygen. You should also
use a small wooden board to prevent the ‘hothead’ from melting down into
the snow.
