Registration Mark Location/Sensor Position - MathCad Template (V1.01)
The sensor for the registration mark is nominally positioned 6.7" behind the cut line (SD). Because the ticket length (TL)
may be shorter than this distance the registration mark that is sensed could be on the first, second or third ticket.
Therefore the ticket length is part of the equation to determine where the mark is placed. The ticket's registration mark
location is therefore nominally 6.7" behind the leading edge of the ticket for all tickets that are longer than 6.7" and, as
noted in the table below (LEtoRM), at a different distance for shorter tickets.
The sensor position has an adjustable range, from SDmin SDmax, which can be used to accommodate a wide variety
of tickets with the registration mark position out of the normal location.
Also, if the sensor is on the opposite side of the printer, as it is for adjustable width printers, ticket stock that was made for the
sensor on the normal side can be feed in to the printer the opposite way. The sensor's adjustment range can then be used to
reference the reg-mark, from the trailing edge of the ticket (which now becomes the new leading edge in this circumstance). The
table below (TEtoRM) will show this trailing edge distance, for a given (RMw) registration mark width. Many of these tickets can
be accommodated with an alternate sensor position adjustment (Alt_Sensor_Position). This is, however, only a stop gap solution.
The tickets should be made correctly: with the reg-mark on the opposite side and at the correct distance (LEtoRM).

Distance from the leading edge of the ticket to the
reg-mark, for the set (SD) sensor position, is a function of
how many ticket lengths are in this distance Note that
"trunc" takes only the integer number from the division of
the ticket length into the sensor distance.
