TICKET STOCK HANDLING OPTIONS

8.1

Ticket Separation/Delivery Options

The ITX printers have three standard ticket separation/delivery options:

-cutter with ejector,
-cutter with stacker/retainer
- tearbar.

8.1.1

Cutter/Ejector or Tearbar – uITX Desktop Model

A uITX with a cutter has a built in ticket ejector.  The ejector expels the ticket immediately after it is cut. This is designed to
deliver the ticket to an attached ticket basket.  The ticket basket supplied with the cutter/ejector uITX and it can catch up to
~200 tickets.   The uITX printer can be also configured with a tearbar, in place of the cutter, for ticket separation.

8.1.2

Cutter/Stacker-Retainer or Tearbar – pITX Countertop Mountable Model

The pITX with cutter has a built in ticket stacker/retainer that will stack and hold at least 10 tickets.  The stacker works best
with short tickets.  Longer tickets, or those with multiple intermediate perforations, may not stack well.  The pITX printer can
be also configured with a tearbar, in place of the cutter, for ticket separation.

8.1.3

Cutter/Ejector -  kITX Kiosk Mountable Model

A kITX comes with a cutter that has a built in ticket ejector. The ejector expels the ticket immediately after it is cut.  This is
designed to deliver the ticket to a user’s ticket basket or into a user isolation drop well.

8.1.4

Cutter/Ejector -  eITX Desktop Model (with Ticket Enclosure Cabinet)

A uITX with a cutter has a built in ticket ejector. The ejector expels the ticket immediately after it is cut. This is designed to
deliver the ticket to an attached ticket basket. The ticket basket supplied with the cutter uITX can catch up to 200 tickets.

8.2

Low Ticket Stock (Paper) Monitoring – Auxiliary Input Port

All ITX printers, except for eITX, require that the ticket stock be placed external to the printer.  Two common methods for
implementing low paper detection are optical sensor of mechanical switch.  The auxiliary port, on the rear of the ITX printer
chassis, can accommodate either. Refer to sections 2.4.5 and 8.2.3 for available ticket-stock holders with low paper detection.

8.2.1

Low Ticket Stock (Paper) Host Status Information

The low ticket (paper) status information, acquired through the printer’s auxiliary port, is available to host system, over the
printer’s data interface reverse channel

(unless the "DISABLED" EEPROM parameter option is selected).

  It is the

responsibility of the connected host system to detect and react to this condition by notifying service personnel to attend to the
paper condition.

8.2.2

Printer Reactions to the Low Ticket Stock (Paper) Condition

There are several programmable printer reactions to the low paper condition.  If the "STATUS Only" (default mode) is selected,
the printer will only display the condition on the switch and display panel, by a slow flashing of the P/P (Power/Paper) LED. If
the "WARNING ONLY" is selected, the printer will sound a warning beep each time a document is printed. If the "BUSY after
document printed" option is selected the printer will complete the document in process and go offline. This reaction is
distinguished from out of paper, in that the low paper warning provides enough paper in the path to complete the document in
process.  If the "DISABLED" option is selected the printer ignores the low paper signal.
