9.1 Oil change.
Keep the engine running during 5 or 10 minutes, so that the oil can reach some
temperature and decrease its viscosity (more liquid). In this way, it will be easier to
extract it completely.
1.
Open the small access cover for maintenance (located under the exhaust
pipe).
2.
Under the oil drain hole (
2
), place a suitable container to collect the used
oil.
3.
Remove the rubber cap (
3
) that is underside of the generator.
4.
Remove the oil refill cap (
1
), so that the engine receives air and expels the
oil faster.
5.
Remove the rubber cap (
4
). Insert a pipe wrench through the hole to reach
the drain screw (
2
).
Loosen the screw, turning it counterclockwise. So the
used oil can drain out.
6.
Turn the engine by pulling the starter rope smoothly. Thus, the oil housed in
the moving parts of the engine can be extracted.
7.
Once all the engine oil has been extracted, put back the drain screw (
2
) and
the rubber caps (
3
and
4
).
8.
Refill with oil, according to the recommendations of chapter:
4.2 Oil filling
and checking.
IMPORTANT:
To safeguard the environmental regulations, the used oil must be
placed in a sealed container and delivered to a service station for recycling. Do not
put it in the trash or spill it on the ground.
