Using the ViewStation FX or the VS4000 with a PC

Remote Management

The ViewStation FX or VS4000 has an embedded web server that 
allows you to manage your system from a PC on the same local area 
network (LAN). You can perform the following tasks from the 
ViewStation FX or VS4000 web interface. 

•

Run diagnostic tests on a system

•

Control a system

•

Send messages to a system

•

Change the setup of a system

•

Place a call to a system or participate in an existing call

You can access ViewStation FX or VS4000 Management controls as 
follows: 

1.

Access the ViewStation FX or VS4000 web interface Welcome 
page by launching your web browser and entering the IP 
address of the ViewStation FX or VS4000 you want to manage. 
The ViewStation FX or VS4000 web interface Welcome page 
appears on your internet browser displaying the name of your 
ViewStation FX or VS4000.

Note

Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher is recommended over 
Netscape Navigator because the ViewStation FX or VS4000 
uses Microsoft’s ActiveX controls to enable the PowerPoint 
presentation capability.

2.

Click on the 

System Information and Management

 icon. The 

Manage System web page appears.
