• The camera’s angle should be adjusted in relation to the windshield’s tilt.
• Place the cable holders in suitable positions around the windshield in order to keep the power
cable out of the way. Fix the power cable into the holders.
• Plug the power cable into the camera and the cigarette lighter to power up.
2.2 Recording
Once plugged into the cigarette lighter, the camera will start up automatically within 30
seconds. Once working it will emit a short beep and the REC light will come on, and stay on.
The camera will then record constantly for as long as it is plugged into the power source.
The frame rate with which it records can be altered for normal driving, and for special
events such as an impact. Section 3.6.1 explains how to do this.
2.3 Connecting to an in-car Monitor
Using the ‘AV out’ cable provided, you can connect the camera to a monitor to see what
is being recorded as you drive. Note: this can only be used on a monitor in a vehicle as the
camera requires constant power from the in-car power source.
• Connect the mini jack (black end) of the video cable to the camera
• Connect the plug (yellow end) into the monitor
• Select the suitable AV mode on your monitor to see the live recording
Ensure the monitor does not obstruct your field of view, nor is visible whilst you drive.
Caution: you may commit an offence if you drive with a monitor displaying moving
images.
