4.2 Editing
PoliceWitness.com has configured your Justice Camera to record in 1 min cycles so
that the need for editing is minimised and you can upload evidential or entertaining
recordings in a short space of time and without occupying vast amounts of storage
capacity. Short clips such as these can also be attached to e-mails, for example, and
shared with others in a way which large files cannot.
Note: Whilst many others are available, YouTube provide a free video editing facility.
4.3 Uploading to YouTube
***** PLEASE READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE YOU START *****
Note: to upload to YouTube it is necessary to save your recording in .AVI format.
See section 3.3 for how to do this. It is recommended that you first copy your .JDR
file as data will be lost when converting a .JDR file into .AVI.
• Before you begin the process of ‘Uploading’ to YouTube it is important that you name
your file or it will get lost amongst all the others on YouTube entitled ‘img-1234’, and
you will have difficulty identifying it even on your own computer
• On the Internet, go onto the YouTube site and click on ‘Create account’
• You will be asked for your e-mail address and then a username. PoliceWitness.com strongly
recommends that you do not use your own name as a username, instead, use an alias like
‘PoliceWitnessxxxxx’. For example: PoliceWitnessMary23.
• Once you are registered, simply click ‘Upload’ and then select the ‘Upload video’ option.
• Identify the clip you want to post from the files on your own computer and double-click
on it. Your video will begin to upload automatically.
