Texas Instruments has described the advantages of
DLP technology as follows:
DLP based display provides improved resolution and brightness,
high contrast and color fidelity. The result is a high-quality
image with greater flexibility for a wide range of applications.
DLP based projectors feature flicker-free and brighter displays
offering more life-like colors, better color convergence and less
visual “noise.” The reduction in visual noise allows viewers to
perceive more detail in foreground and background scenes, pro-
ducing images that appear to have more depth than current pro-
jection display images.
DLP is a promising new technology with big appeal for
“early adopters.” Currently, DLP’s real advantage is its SVGA
capability and its superiority to LCD for video and photographic
imagery.
